Money available for Dearne Valley community projects

The Dearne North Alliance and Dearne South Community Board will soon be allocating grants to volunteer-run groups in Goldthorpe, Highgate, Bolton on Dearne and Thurnscoe.

Funding is evailable to match fund against time, expertise and resources for community projects which meet the aims earmarked in the Ward Plan for each council ward, including supporting and developing new groups and

supporting equality and diversity.

The Dearne North Alliance and Dearne South Community Board is each made up of the three local elected members whom work alongside community representatives, volunteers and local businesses .

They meet every 8 weeks to consider and approve projects based on the details of each individual application.

Applications from religious bodies and schools/academic bodies will only be considered if there is a wider benefit for the local community.
