A ROTHERHAM fish and chip shop owner reckons he has pumped around one MILLION litres of water out of his cellar during a long-running dispute with Yorkshire Water.

A ROTHERHAM  fish and chip shop owner reckons he has pumped around one MILLION litres of water out of his cellar during a long-running dispute with Yorkshire Water.

George Georgiou says the water has been leaking into his premises since work on the mains outside his shop in Foljambe Road, Eastwood, in 2007.

And he said that the water company had refused to accept that mains leakages were the cause.

Now he is hoping that Government ministers can help sort out his ordeal after his plight was raised in the Commons.

Yorkshire Water has declined to comment for legal reasons.
