Mexborough man scoops £1.5m on lottery

A KIND-hearted lottery winner who scooped nearly £1.5 million in the national draw has vowed to “make sure his family are looked after.”

Graham Pyatt (64), from Mexborough, is still in shock after looking at his National Lottery account on Thursday of last week and finding out he had won £1,460,850 from the Lotto draw five days earlier, on August 14.

He said: “I always choose one lucky dip but didn’t check my account until Thursday.

“When it said I was a winner I couldn’t believe it and had to get my son to confirm that it was true.”

Despite his win Graham, who is housebound with respiratory and mobility issues, has no plans to splash out on an extravagant holiday, and will instead spend his money on his family.

Graham is married to Jean (60) and has one son called Steven (30).

He explained: “I want to use the money to make sure that Steven and his family are looked after which will make me very happy.”
