Medical students have ‘stars in their eyes’ in Dinnington

A QUARTET of students at Dinnington High School — including two would-be medics — had stars in their eyes as they studied their results.

Both Molly Sadler and Alex Summerbell are heading off to study medicine after achieving the grades they needed.

Molly scored an A* in biology and As in mathematics and chemistry and is off to Newcastle University, while Alex Summerbell notched up A* in mathematics and As in biology and chemistry and is preparing for life at the University of Sheffield.

David Barringer and Ryan Forrester, meanwhile, picked up identical results —  an A* in mathematics and As in further maths and physics.

David will study computer science at Warwick University and Ryan has secured a place to study aerospace engineering at Sheffield.

The school’s pass rate for all Level 3 qualifications was 99 per cent, with 82 per cent of students achieving grades A* to C.

Joe Morley, from the school, said: “Huge congratulations were exchanged between pupils and staff with a real sense of joy surrounding the school.

“All the staff were thrilled to see the students getting the grades they deserve and seeing all their hard work has paid off.”
