Man jailed for killing of "vulnerable" Paul Dyson
Adam Goodridge (31), who has been on remand for a year, was told by Judge Julian Goose at Sheffield Crown Court today (Thursday) that he will serve half of his sentence on licence.
Goodridge’s sentence was reduced by ten-per cent after the judge awarded him credit for entering a guilty plea to manslaughter at the outset of the trial.

After an 11-day trial the jury yesterday acquitted Goodridge, formerly of Huntington Way, Maltby, of murder but found him guilty of manslaughter.
The jury of seven men and five women took nine hours to reach their unanimous verdict.
Judge Goose said Mr Dyson was a “highly vulnerable victim” and the “sustained assault” on a “defenceless man in his own bed” caused serious injuries with substantial force.
