Among the items found in Mrs Pearson’s home were 14 empty blister packs of Paracetamol tablets, several empty bottles of wine and a quarter-empty bottle of whisky.

Pathologist, Dr Leonard Harvey, told an inquest this week that it was impossible to carry out tests to determine the presence of alcohol or drugs in Mrs Pearson’s body due to the onset of decomposition.

It was also no possible to ascertain the cause of death.

Rotherham coroner Ms Nicola Mundy recorded an open verdict after hearing that Mrs Pearson had fallen out with her family over Christmas and had threatened to kill herself.
