Liquid and Envy saved in company buy-out

FORTY six jobs have been saved after the parent company of top Rotherham club Liquid and Envy was bought out.

The club, on Main Street, Rotherham, looked to be heading for closure when clubbing giant Luminar Entertainment, one of the country’s largest nightclub operators, went into administration.

But the company has been bought by former Whitbread nightclubs director Alex Geffert, nightlife entrepreneur Joe Heanen and former Luminar executive Peter Marks.

Luminar faced debts of around £140 million in October after the economic downturn kept partygoers away from its club’s doors.

The company’s banks—Lloyds, Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland—refused to extend its loan facilities and the firm called in administrators.
