Join the club to save on energy

GAS and electricity customers wanting to save money on their bills have the chance to club together and buy their energy in bulk.

Rotherham Borough Council has joined energy regulator Ofgem to raise awareness of the new initiative, which is led by consumer group Which? and online campaigning group 38 Degrees.

The two groups are asking residents to register their interest online by providing their name, postcode and email address before Saturday, March 31.

Which? will then contact people for details of their current gas and electricity suppliers and tariffs so that they can negotiate the best deal with the energy suppliers.

After Which? has negotiated a new deal with an energy company, it will get in touch with residents with details of how much they could save by switching.
