A 25-year-old man has been jailed for nine months after being found guilty of producing cannabis.

A 25-year-old man has been jailed for nine months after being found guilty of the producing cannabis.

Paul Denman, of Broome Avenue, Swinton, was found to be in possession of 16 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £6,400 when police raided his home on January 9.

He was charged with producing cannabis and was handed a nine month custodial sentence during a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court.

South Yorkshire Police are asking anyone with information about illegal cannabis cultivation to report it by dialling 101.
