Det Insp Lea Jackson said: “Jamie Webb is aware officers are looking for him and we are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

“When he is found and arrested, he will be immediately returned to prison.

“I would add that anyone who is found to have assisted Mr Webb in eluding the police could be committing a criminal offence and would also be dealt with accordingly.”

Officers said that members of the public should not approach Webb under any circumstances.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police on 0114 220 2020 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
