Housing plan for dilapidated country pub

A “DILAPIDATED” former pub will be partially demolished and converted into housing, under new plans.

What is left of The Cartwheel at Main Street, Brookhouse, would be one home with another building to make a second home.

Planning papers submitted for applicant M. Gibbs said: “The pub has been closed for a considerable amount of time.

“The client has advertised the site for alternative uses and has received no interest or offers. The building has been left empty and redundant for a considerable amount of time and is becoming increasingly dilapidated.”

The documents said the new building would match the surroundings and the total footprint would on site would not be bigger than the original pub.
