Horse saved from sticky end in rescue drama

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a horse after it escaped from its field and became stuck in slurry up to its neck.

Crews used a sling and a tractor to save the stricken animal after being called to Wentworth.

The horse was given the all clear by a vet after its ordeal last Wednesday afternoon.
