Hell for leathers! Biker Jo sets new speed record

SHE’s the fastest woman in the world on two wheels . . . and that’s official.

Rotherham mum Jo Stevenson tops the motorcycling world’s Straightliners’ List after clocking 243.5mph on a turbo-powered Suzuki GSX 1300 R after four runs during a Top Speed event at Elvington airfield in York.

The previous record of 241.48mph was set by Canadian Trillium Muir.

Now Jo, who lives in Bramley with daughter Ella and fiance Dave Taylor, is looking for sponsorship to help her beat the 250mph barrier.
