Heavy snow for weekend, warn weathermen

BRACE yourself for another wintry blast . . . weathermen say it is going to snow most of the weekend, with some heavy falls expected tomorrow.

For tomorrow in Yorkshire and Humberside, The Met Office says: "Some heavy and persistent snowfall is likely to develop across many areas, with 5-10 cm of snow in many inland parts, and perhaps as much as 20-40 cm over high ground.

"Taking into account the strong to gale force winds, some atrocious conditions with drifting and blizzards are expected for many upland areas in particular. The public should be aware of the potential for significant disruption, particularly to transport and to power supplies."

The snow is likely to continue into Saturday with some disruption expected.
