HAVE YOUR SAY: Bus station’s travel centre to close

AXING a travel helpdesk at Rotherham Interchange from tomorrow as part of £7.6 million budget cuts will hit the elderly hardest, passengers said this week.

The travel information centre, which sells tickets and allows passengers to pick up timetable details, is being shut for good by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.

Passengers will be expected to use a phone hotline, website and on-site computer information kiosks to access travel information, while a customer service desk will also be staffed during the day.
