Happy bus man bags passenger a prize

A DEARNE Valley bus passenger has bagged a top prize by voting for her favourite driver in a customer competition.

Jane Goldthorpe, from Swinton, won £100 of Love2shop vouchers after taking part in Stagecoach Yorkshire’s annual Customer Service Stars competition.

Jane was picked at random and presented with her prize by Patrick Beighton, operations manager, and Paul Bilham, the driver Jane voted for, at Stagecoach’s Rawmarsh depot, in Rotherham.

Jane said: “Myself and the other passengers I boarded with at the bus stop were so pleased with how polite and cheery Paul was, we all decided we just had to vote for him.

“I really think if you are happy and chirpy it makes everyone else’s day a bit brighter.”

Stagecoach's winning driver will be revealed later this month.

Paul Lynch, managing director, Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “We would like to congratulate Jane and thank her for taking the time to vote in our competition.

“Without feedback from customers like Jane, it would be difficult for us to keep developing and improving our bus networks for the benefit of passengers.”
