Grants for local organisations

THREE organisations have been awarded a total of £42,000 from South Yorkshire’s Police Crime Commissioners’ recent round of grants.

Seventeen organisations will receive the funding from Commissioner Shaun Wright, who received more than 96 bids, totalling almost £1.9 million.

The three successful organisations in the borough include the Rotherham Women’s Counselling Service and Pit Stop for Men, which was awarded £15,000.

The voluntary organisation provides specialist counselling for adults.

Dinnington Community Forum, was granted £12,000 to continue its work supporting the development of Dinnington, address issues of deprivation, crime and support partners to affect positive change within the area.

Military Community and Veterans Centre is a group of mainly ex-Armed Forces personnel of all ages and backgrounds, who have come together to help fellow comrades who may find the transition from military life to civilian life very difficult.

It is a not-for-profit organisation, composed mostly of Rotherham residents, and was granted £15,000.
