Get your hands on toilet block for £1,000

A PROPERTY auction certainly won’t be bog standard when a former public toilet block goes under the hammer.

Auctioneers Mark Jenkinson and Sons are hoping to be flushed with interest in the building on Church Street, Conisbrough, after listing it with a guide price of £1,000.

The stone-built hexagonal block has been put up for sale by Doncaster Council and auctioneer Adrian Little said it could be converted into a shop or kiosk.

He said: “It is part of a number of assets that the council have been selling off.

“We have sold a number of similar properties in the past.

“There is always a bit of demand for people looking for a kiosk or sweet shop and this one is in quite a good trading position just next to the bus stop.”

The property will go under the hammer in the Platinum Suite of Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane football ground on Tuesday, October 18, at 2pm.

Mr Little said: “Somebody will be able to use the shell of the building and then convert it.

“We have listed it with a guide price of £1,000 but there will be some costs on top of that.

“I think in light of the interest we’ve had we should get the £1,000.”
