Get in gear and help raise hospice cash

The children’s hospice’s 35km Park 2 Park this weekend begins and ends at Rother Valley Country Park and includes a ride down to Poolsbrook Country Park, Derbyshire.

The day ends with a barbecue, children’s games and a new sprint zone for fundraisers who still have energy to spare. Everyone taking part also receives a medal.

A spokeswoman said: “The sponsorship money raised will make sure Bluebell Wood can be there for families during some of the hardest times they will ever face.”

Peter Maw has signed up in memory of daughter Natalie (pictured), a St Bernard’s High pupil who died, aged 12, at the North Anston hospice after battling a rare liver cancer.

He said: “Bluebell Wood is a wonderful place and deserves your support. Natalie passed away at the hospice surrounded by love and care, something I will be forever grateful for.”

Tickets are £13 for adults and £6 for under 16s. Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum £25 sponsorship.
