Fridge and garden waste torched in the Dearne Valley

ARSONISTS set fire to a fridge and some garden waste in the Dearne Valley overnight. 

Dearne firefighters were called to tackle a fridge on fire on Upperwood Road in Darfield at 10.25pm and were at the scene for 20 minutes.

A crew from Edlington station was called to a fire involving garden waste on Weston Road in Balby at 1.45am today.

They left the scene at 2.20am.

Both fires were thought to be deliberate, said a spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
