'Flashers' take show to the pub . . .

PERFORMERS from Dinnington Operatic Society staged their own “flash mob” to publicise their latest show.

Members of the society surprised customers at the Monks Bridge pub in Dinnington with an impromptu performance of excerpts from the show.

The society will perform Cole Porter’s Anything Goes at Dinnington’s Lyric Theatre on from October 10-15.

The show’s director, Gail Cobb, said: “We’re really grateful to Ray at the Monks Bridge for allowing us to invade his pub like this.

“It’s the first time we’ve done anything like this and we’re really excited, flash mobs seem to be popping up everywhere so we thought we'd have a go and hopefully reach some people who wouldn’t have heard about our show otherwise.”

A "flash mob" is and event organised by word of mouth at which a crowd of people gathers to spontaneously carry out some kind of event before melting away again.
