Farm fire blaze cause not yet known

THE cause of a major blaze at a farm is still being investigated.

Two farm buildings full of straw caught fire early last Thursday morning and at one stage 30 firefighters with six engines were tackling it.

A thick cloud of smoke could be seen for miles around and the road adjacent to the premises was closed for several days.

The incident started at around 4.20am last Thursday at Holywell Farm, Wentworth Road in Swinton.

There were no injuries.

A spokesman for the South Yorkshire Fire Service said that no cause of the fire had been estbalished yet and the matter was being investigated by the police.
