MILLERS-mad Norman Lawrence’s Scottish roots have long seen him adopt dual loyalties between his beloved home football team and Ayr United.

But he had to make a double-take when he was handed a barely-recognisable image of a bona fide Scot with a passion for Rotherham on a recent trip north of the border.

The 66-year-old Rotherham United season ticket holder got star treatment when he headed to his family’s home town, on Scotland’s west coast, to see his two favourite teams meet in a pre-season friendly.

And after a tour of the Somerset Park stadium and an entertaining 4-1 Millers win, he had the players shaking their heads in disbelief at a picture of their gaffer in his playing days at Ayr.
