Top marks for Toby's pollution paper

A PAPER on pollution has won an emissions expert an academic award.

Toby Campbell, regional manager for the testing and certification group Exova in Rotherham, has won the prestigious Oliver Lodge Prize for his MSc dissertation on Air Pollution Management and Control.

As manager of Exova’s stack sampling division in the north of England, Mr Campbell (pictured) has found his work on dioxin emissions control, which was the focus of his dissertation, has helped both his own expertise and his ability to support customers in the Rotherham and area.

The Oliver Lodge Prize is awarded by the University of Birmingham for the best dissertation in the field of environmental protection.  

Alastair Wolff, general manager of Exova’s environmental division in the UK and Ireland, said: “This is a tremendous achievement for Toby and we congratulate him on this recognition.  

“At Exova we like to invest in our people and for Toby it was through funding his MSc, which has definitely paid off for him with this award.

“In undertaking this MSc, Toby has built on his knowledge of dioxin control and related issues, which has brought a new understanding to our team.”
