A FLOOD warning has been issued for Whiston Brook after heavy overnight rain put parts of the borough under water.

Roads in Whiston, Ravenfield, Scholes, Wentworth and Woodsetts are all under water.

The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Whiston Brook which means flooding is expected and immediate action is required.

A bus has also become stuck in Whiston Village, which has been described by a witness as a 'no-go' area due to the flooding.

A car has become stuck in water on the B6200 near Swallownest.

A flood alert has been issued for the River Dearne which means flooding of nearby roads and low-lying land is possible.

The car park at Great Eastern Retail Park in Parkgate has flooded and there are reports of flooding elsewhere at Parkgate.

Scholes Village, in Scholes, is reported to be under about a foot of water, while Hague Lane in Wentworth has flooded.

The B6089 at Low Stubbin is also under water.

Firefighters from Maltby were called to Hoades Avenue in Woodsetts at 8.50am to a report of flooding.

The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the Ryton Oldcoates catchment, which is near to Firbeck, Oldcotes and Carlton in Lindrick.
