He said: “When I heard the thunder, I realised that lightning was coming so I had to get prepared.

“I set up my camera to shoot consecutively, and after 30 minutes, I had caught lightning in one of 200 photos.

“I think I caught the perfect picture. I guess I was very lucky.”

Mr Türkan, originally from Bulgaria, added his enthusiasm for the sky and enjoyed seeing the sky light up with thunder.

“I love everything in the sky, it was amazing — even though it was a little loud.

“I have seen it many times where I come from — I hope I can take more pictures like it in the future.”
