Descendants of first landlord perform reopening of Wickersley pub

A LANDLORD gave a nod to his pub’s history as he looked to the future following a £200,000 makeover.

Les Hince marked the relaunch of The Three Horseshoes in Wickersley on Friday by welcoming Lynne Clarke and Stephen Cavill, who are descendants of the pub’s first landlord, to perform the official opening.

He said the revamp had created six new jobs with a new chef and extra kitchen staff.

Les and wife Tammy relaunched the pub with a food tasting night and invited punters to survey a gallery of historic photographs provided by generations of locals.

They pledged to continue their record of fund-raising event, which brought in £36,000 last year.
