Dawson's title chase

COMEBACK kid Neil Dawson made an explosive return to the ring after a five year absence -and now he’s hungry for titles.

The Thorpe Hesley cruiserweight who fights out of Wombwell racked up eight straight wins after turning pro in 2002, only to suprisingly shelve his career less than three years later despite being on the brink of a central area championship tilt.

But now he’s back and Dawson is eager to make up for lost time.

His ring return at Barnsley Metrodome last Friday brought victory over Clipstone’s Mark Lewis, the Nott1tin-ghamshire fighter throwing in the towel at the end of the second round.

“I’ve had five years out but I’m still only 30 and I’m ready to carry on where I left off,” he said.
