Woman left lying in street at 1.30am after being hit by vehicle

A PEDESTRIAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle at about 1.30am and left lying in the road.

Police said the woman in her 30s had got out of a taxi on Sheffield Road, Swallownest before the incident with another vehicle.

“This vehicle did not stop at the scene,” said a force spokesperson. “The woman was found lying in the road and suffered serious injuries.

“Police now want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may hold information about the collision.”

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 1.45am on Saturday.
