VIDEO: Drama as police arrest suspect on busy dual carriageway

THREE police cars were scrambled to tackle a motorist who was pinned down by officers in the middle of a busy dual carriageway.

Drama unfolded on Greensway in Mexborough as the man was arrested by police earlier today.

Market trader Peter Baldwin's video of the incident, in which a red car appears boxed in by three squad cars, has been viewed more than 75,000 times and shared over 1,500 times online.

Police said a 26-year-old man had been arrested for failing to stop.

Cars had to be directed onto a side road to get past the scene after the westbound side of Greensway was blocked.
