Veteran South Yorkshire Police officer steps down

A TOP South Yorkshire police officer has retired after 36 years with the force.

Deputy Chief Constable Bob Dyson (55), who lives in Rotherham, began his career in 1976 and has worked in traffic, firearms and drugs teams across South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire Police's training facility in Wath was named Robert Dyson House in his honour in 2010 and he was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal last year.
