UPDATE - Two held after man stabbed in the head and neck

TWO people are being questioned after a man was stabbed in the head and neck.

Police were called to an area off Eldon Road in Eastwood yesterday (Tuesday) just after 4pm following reports that a 30-year-old man had suffered head injuries and slash wounds to his throat.

The victim was taken to the Northern General Hospital where he remains in a stable condition with serious injuries, which are not considered to be life threatening.

Officers investigating the incident arrested a 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman from an address in Rawmarsh yesterday evening.

Both people remain in police custody today.
