Three people arrested and bailed after police bust in Denaby

THREE people were arrested and bailed for offences including class A drugs and possession of ammunition without a licence during a dedicated day of police action in Doncaster and the Dearne Valley.

The warrant was executed at Wiltshire Avenue in Denaby as part of Operation Duxford, which saw units from across the force, as well as partner agencies, come together to tackle criminality across the district during a 24-hour operation last Wednesday.

At the Denaby property a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, possession of a bladed article, and possession of section 1 ammunition without a licence.

Police also arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, and possession of section 1 ammunition without a licence.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, and possession of  section 1 ammunition without a licence.

All three were released on police bail.

Overall, the operation saw officers making 21 arrests for offences including burglary, attempted burglary, theft, and weapons offences.

Police carried out 19 stop searches, four vehicle searches and 32 vehicle stops, recovering four stolen vehicles.

Two dangerous dogs were also seized during the operation, which was led by officers and staff in Operation Castle, the new policing operation response to burglary.

As well as enforcement, the teams carried our plain clothes and high-visibility patrols in known burglary hot-spot areas, conducted a number of curfew checks and held engagement events. 

Doncaster Supt Pete Thorp, who oversaw the activity, said: “The additional resources provided by specialist teams from across the force allow us to make a big impact during these days of action, executing warrants, making arrests and providing reassurance to residents.”
