Three in court on Mexborough assault charge

THREE men have appeared in court charged with assaulting a woman in Mexborough.

Police were called to Oliver Street at 2.25am on Thursday, June 18 after reports that a 42-year-old woman had been attacked.

She was taken to hospital, where she was treated for “serious injuries” over the weekend.

Nathan Watson (27) and Darren Taylor (45) — both of Oliver Street, Mexborough — appeared at Doncaster Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Scott Fitzgerald (21) of Beaumont Mews, Manor also appeared.

All three were remanded into custody, to attend Sheffield Crown Court at a later date.
