Thieves escape with Rotherham mum's treasured teeth

A MUM has been reunited with her children’s baby teeth after they were stolen in a burglary at her home.

The teeth were stolen in a burglary at the house on Havercroft Road, Broom, while the family were away on holiday.

Among several items stolen was a jewellery box containing many pieces of jewellery, together with objects of sentimental value, including the teeth.

The box — and the teeth — were found a week later in Doncaster Road, Rotherham, by East Dene Police Community Support Officers Corrinna Dannatt and Jemma Guinn.

And although some of the contents were missing, the victim was happy that the items with the most sentimental value were returned.

PCSO Hayley Laurie said: “Work of this nature shows how vitally important the contribution of Safer Neighbourhood Teams can be in the communities that they serve.”
