Smoke from wheelie bins blaze spread to flats

SMOKE from burning wheelie bins reached into adjacent flats during a blaze in Dinnington.

Fire officers from Maltby and Aston stations had to check the properties to make sure there was no smoke damage or smoke inhalation injuries.

The incident, at around midnight this morning (Tuesday), happened on Laughton Road and fire officers were at the scene for about an hour.

No-one was injured.

A fire brigade spokesperson said: “We had to go and check that everyone was okay.”

The cause of the wheelie bin fire is still under investigation.
