Seven arrested in morning drugs raids

SEVEN people have been arrested in early morning raids for offences including class A drugs possession and intent to supply.

Police executed four warrants in Maltby and one in Tickhill on Friday as part of a crime-busting operation in those areas.

Two men aged 29 and one aged 27 were arrested on suspicion of burglary in the Maltby swoops.

A 37-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of heroin possession with intent to supply and failure to attend court.

Another 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, cannabis and amphetamine possession, while a woman aged 43 was arrested on suspicion of heroin possession with intent to supply.

At the Tickhill property a 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and amphetamine possession, after drugs and a large quantity of cash were recovered there.

Det Sgt Iain Martin said: “I’m pleased with the results and I hope it sends out a very clear message that we will not tolerate criminal activity.

“We will continue to run operations like this and I hope the results from Friday offer some form of reassurance to the local communities that we are determined to reduce crime and bring those who are involved to justice.”
