Rotherham arrest as police seize illegal goods

POLICE in South Yorkshire seized £42,000 in goods and made 34 arrests as part of a week-long international operation.

Trivium 4 was run in partnership with Immigration Enforcement, the DVLA, European traffic police and others.

Officers stopped 683 drivers and recovered £2,100 in drugs and £31,000 of stolen vehicles between June 22 and 28.

A man from Romania was arrested in Rotherham for failing to appear on a warrant in York. Checks revealed he was also wanted for theft in Portugal.

A male from outside the EU was detained for possession of a drug with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon.

Chief Insp Glen Suttenwood said: “Operation Trivium 4 provided an excellent opportunity to work alongside a variety of agencies.

“By working together, individuals who are believed to be travelling the country committing crime have been identified and we have been able to disrupt activity and dismantle groups of criminals.”
