£30k flagons stolen from museum

THIEVES broke a window to steal a pair of 18th century silver flagons worth £30,000 from Clifton Park Museum.

The George III jugs — measuring 36.5cm tall and weighing 116oz in total — were taken on Tuesday (9).

They were made by Tudor and Leader in 1781. The side of each is engraved “The Gift of Mrs Mary Bellamy, Late of Rotherham.”
