Police seek trio of thugs who assaulted teenager

THREE thugs left a 17-year-old boy with facial injuries after wrestling him to the ground during an attempted robbery.

Police are now hunting the trio who approached their victim and demanded that he hand over his bike as he cycled along Ash Dale Road, Warmsworth, between 8.30am and 8.40am on January 26.

A police spokesman said: “He was wrestled to the floor and assaulted before the suspects were disturbed by a passer-by and ran off.

“Nothing was stolen in the incident and the victim sustained facial injuries.”

One of the suspects was described as being white, around 17-years-old, of skinny build and about 5ft tall.

He had shaved blond hair and was wearing a light grey tracksuit top and bottoms.

The two other suspects were described as being around 12-years-old and of skinny build.

One was about 5ft 2ins tall, had shaved blond hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit top.

The other was wearing a black hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The police spokesman added: “The victim believes he may have seen the attackers in Edlington Road, near to Lords Head Lane, shortly before the attempted robbery.”
