Police “evacuate” neighbours after gas blast house "moved"

PEOPLE have been evacuated from their homes - two months after a gas explosion at a neighbouring property.

Police closed Woodleys Avenue in Rawmarsh around 11pm on Tuesday, according to an eye witness.

One man, who did not want to be named, said the home, which had been left damaged after a gas cylinder exploded inside the house on July 10 at around 6.45pm, "moved" last night.

The incident two months ago left a man injured.

The man added: “The house has moved about one foot according to the next door neighbours who’ve been evacuated.”
