Police commissioner backs domestic violence campaign

POLICE Commissioner Shaun Wright has written to the Government calling for “Eve’s Law” to be introduced to protect domestic violence victims.

It follows his deputy, Tracey Cheetham, meeting abuse survivor Eve Thomas, who discovered a legal loophole allowing her safehouse address to be available to her violent ex.

Mrs Cheetham said: “Eve’s Law is just one step that we must take to ensure that victims of domestic violence are helped and supported in moving on and living without constant fear.”

Mrs Thomas said: “I am very pleased to have their backing. I hope other PCCs will join them in supporting the campaign.”
