Police appeal after late-night pub brawl

POLICE this week appealed for information after a number of men received head injuries during a late-night brawl.

A fight is believed to have broken out at the Tumbler pub on Broomhouse Lane, Edlington, at around 11.20pm on August 30.

The dispute, involving a number of men aged between 20 and 38, was eventually broken up and everyone went outside.

But the fighting started again outside the pub, moving further down Broomhouse Lane and eventually onto Lilac Crescent.

A police spokeswoman said: “The disorder resulted in injuries being sustained by a number of the men involved.

“One man suffered a fractured eye socket, jaw and skull and two other men required stitches for head injuries and facial cuts and grazes.”

A spokeswoman for the Tumbler pub said: “We are working with the police to assist with their investigation.

“This is not a regular occurrence in the pub and we do not condone this type of violence.”
