No major incidents on Bonfire Night

BONFIRE Night passed without any major incidents in the borough according to South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR).

Over the course of the night crews dealt with two separate wheelie bin incidents that were deliberately set on fire.

Aston station was called to Lodge Lane in Aston at 8pm after two bins were found alight.

Ten minutes later a crew from Rotherham station attended Teesdale Road in Wingfield where another bin had been set on fire.

Crews dealt with the blazes in around 15 minutes.

SYFR said it did not yet know the cause of a skip fire in Mexborough on Windhill Avenue.

Cudworth station was at the scene for an hour.
