Mother helps trap flasher who exposed himself to daughter

A MAN has been convicted of exposing himself to three teenage schoolgirls.

Mark Dexter (42), of Durham Place, Herringthorpe, admitted to two counts of exposure and was sentenced to eight months in jail at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court today.

Three Herringthorpe schoolgirls saw Dexter exposing himself and carrying out a sexual act in an area close to the junction of Middle Lane South and Wickersley Road.

Dexter was arrested in October after the mother of one of the schoolgirls recognised a man matching the description given by her daughter.

She informed police and Dexter was charged.

PC Adam Broughton, the investigating officer, said: “Dexter’s actions were disgusting and I am pleased this matter has been brought to a swift conclusion for the young girls that witnessed his despicable behaviour.

“I would like to acknowledge the role played by the mother of one of the girls whose diligence played a significant part in bringing this man to justice.”
