MBE for top cop Amanda

A POLICE officer’s commitment to her community was highlighted when she picked up her MBE from Buckingham Palace.

PC Amanda Dickens joined South Yorkshire Police in 2002 and worked in neighbourhood policing — notably at Eastwood — until moving to the child sexual exploitation team in 2014.

She said: “It was a truly lovely experience and I had an amazing couple of days in London.

“It was fantastic to share it with my family and the memories will stay with me forever.

“I am proud to serve South Yorkshire Police and the community of Rotherham and to be recognised for that work is very humbling.

“I would like to thank my colleagues and the community of Rotherham for putting me forward.”
