Man shot in leg outside Thrybergh club

A MAN was shot in the leg outside a working men’s club in Thrybergh on Friday evening.

Police were called to Hollings Lane at about 7.20pm to reports of a victim with gunshot wounds.

The incident is understood to have happened outside Thrybergh Working Men’s Club, where the man was reportedly fired at by someone travelling in a white Range Rover Evoque.

The vehicle is understood to have left the scene but has since been located, South Yorkshire Police said.

Part of Hollings Lane was cordoned off on Friday night and the police helicopter was sent to the area.

“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been released,” a police spokesperson said.

“An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and there has been an increased police presence in the community over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Thrybergh Working Men’s Club said the incident was unrelated to the venue and had involved no-one from there.
