Man “critical” in hospital after being found seriously injured

South Yorkshire Police said they had been called at 7.30am this morning to reports of concern for a man found lying on the ground on Warmsworth Road between the junctions with Hepworth Road and Ranyard Road.  

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and he remains in a critical condition, a spokesperson said.

We are now carrying out enquiries to piece together the circumstances of how the man was injured, they added.
