Man arrested in connection with shooting

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident on Friday evening.

The 26-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon following police activity in the Hoyland area of Barnsley.

He remains in custody today and is being questioned by officers about the reported incident in Chapeltown.

Police were called at around 11pm on Friday following reports shots had been fired in Burncross Road. 

Nobody is believed to have been injured during the incident. 

Six people, five men and one woman, were arrested in connection with the incident on Friday in the Upper Wortley Road area of Rotherham and remain on bail pending further enquiries.
