Man arrested for affray after Mexborough incident
A MAN in his 40s was arrested for affray and public nuisance after a police incident in Mexborough.
Emergency services attended Highwoods Road shortly after 12.30pm today (Friday) following reports of threatening behaviour.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said the man was currently in custody, adding: “The road was closed for a time to allow emergency services to respond, but it has since been reopened.”
South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue confirmed that firefighters had been asked by SYP to attend on standby.
“Dearne station attended the incident at 12.47pm and left at 1.52pm,” a spokesperson added.
